ABOUT SAINIK SCHOOLS:

Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. The Society runs Sainik Schools. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE. Sainik Schools prepare Cadets to join the National
Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training Academies for officers. At present there are a total of 33 Sainik Schools across the country.

The prime aim of the Sainik school is to focus and offer quality education to the children of rural masses and to develop qualities of body, mind and character which will enable the young boys to become good and useful citizens and eventually be a feeder to National Defence Academy.

Admission to sainik schools are made in 6th and 9th standard through All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE). The preparation for AISSEE exam needs focused training, right guidance, and adequate practice to crack the written exam and become successful in joining Sainik School. The Vision Defence Institute is one of the best academies in training candidates for AISSEE.

Vision Defence team is a dedicated, experienced, and expertise in training the cadets as per the requirements of AISSEE. The syllabus of AISSEE is covered subject by subject (topic wise) to make cadets grasp subject knowledge to the maximum level to get the best score.

Regular class tests and planned comprehensive tests are conducted on regular basis to evaluate the cadet’s performance and identify their areas of improvement, to guide and mentor them to achieve the required standards to excel in the AISSEE. Vision Defence Institute have motivational speakers and special lecture series to keep the motivation levels of candidates high and focus on the goal.

ELIGIBILITY

For admission to Class VI

A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March of the admission year for admission to Class VI. Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria is same as boys.

For admission to Class IX

A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as on 31 March of the admission year, for admission to Class IX. Admission to Class IX is not open for girls.

He should have passed Class VIII exam from a recognized school at the time of admission.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

Mode of Examination: Paper pencil on OMR answer sheets for admission to both Class VI and Class IX.

* Candidates (Boys only) belonging to Other States/ UT will be allotted seats in their category as per merit, subject to a maximum limit of 25% of the total vacancies in the category for each State or Union Territory. E.g. If there are 10 seats in Other States/UT General Category, Candidates of any particular State/ UT will not be granted more than 3 seats (25% of 10 or 2.5 rounded off to 3). At least one seat per category will be allotted in girls admission. Category-wise percentage of reservation will be maintained by the combined strength of boys and girls together. If any of the reserved categories (SC, ST or OBC) is/ are not available within the Home State/ UT, the
seats shall be distributed among the available categories within the Home State/ UT in order that 67% of the seats remain with the Home State/ UT. Adventure Activity

Cadets are regularly selected and sent every year for rock climbing training to Suriyan Mountain, Idli Mountain, and the adventure camps organized by Sainik Schools Society. In addition various other activities like Parasailing, Cycling expedition, Kayaking and trekking are organized to instill the spirits of adventure in the cadet.

NCC Training

Compulsory NCC training is imparted right from Class VI to XII where by our cadets grow to be disciplined, honest, patriotic, secular and wedded to the national cause transcending all barriers of caste, creed and language. The School has an Independent Unit of NCC Junior Wing and Senior Wing.

MIR

All Sainik Schools have infirmary. A resident Medical Officer, assisted by a fully qualified Nursing Assistant attend to the ailments/medical cases of the students. Periodical Medical checkup is also conducted by the Medical Officers. Serious ailments are referred to Specialists /General Hospital for treatment

Games & Sports

Games and sports are an integral part of school curriculum to make cadets physically fit and mentally robust. Regular training is imparted in games and sports like Hockey, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Cross country and Athletics. The personnel of Army Physical Training Corps and Coaches from Sports Authority of India train the cadets in various games and sports.

Laboratories

The Schools has well-equipped with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics laboratories and Computer labs with the latest machines and broadband internet facility as well as multimedia teaching rooms that integrate technology with traditional methods. Modern teaching methods and a variety of both conventional and electronic training aids, like Over Head Projectors, Audio Video Player, LCD Projectors, Smart boards, E-Beam etc are used to make teaching more interesting and effective.

Swimming Pool

School has modern swimming pool where boys are trained by the PI Staff. This is one of the most important activities in NDA.

Hobby Clubs

Team work plays a vital role in developing the Officerlike Qualities one among the cadets. Also it is one of the integral parts of the package meant for all round personality development of an individual. Organizing various club activities in schools helps achieve this goal. Our school has got a number of clubs;some of them unique in nature. Parasailing, Horse riding, Karate, Cycling, Rock Climbing and Ham Radio are the clubs which provide ample adventure to our cadets. These clubs make our cadets physically tough and mentally alert to face any situation in life. Desirable qualities like courage, confidence, determination and perseverence are daily instilled on the cadets.

Obstacle Course

School has Obstacle Course, GTO Task Course as well as Individual Obstacle Course for SSB Training and to get cadets familiar with obstacles make and train them physically and mentally able to do such

Gymnasium

The school also has a well equipped gymnasium with multi gym equipments. To keep fit cadets health and body

Smart Class

The school has well-equipped and spacious classrooms and laboratories. The maximum strength of the children in a classroom is 35-40 for an optimum student – teacher ratio.

Cadets' Mess

The Cadets mess run by school has all modern kitchen appliances and has spacious enough dinning hall which provides facility to all cadets to dine-in together alongwith members of academic staff. Teachers helps cadets in learning Mess etiquettes and table manners.

Riding Club

School has a good riding club with 11 Horses to impart riding training to the cadets
